Environmental Policy
Since Satmya started in 2007 we have always maintained a Green policy. Our choices are ethical, green and sustainable when and where possible. We try to have very little impact on our environment as we see the environment as being integral to health.
We make a conscious effort
All our printed advertising is by A Local Printer (who use 100% recycled paper and vegetable inks)
Our electricity is supplied by Airtricity ensuring it comes from a renewable energy source
When Satmya was decorated we only used eco friendly Clay paints. We now stock these paints
Our Website is hosted by Hostpapa – A green web host
The packaging we use for our products is recycled (when possible)
We support our local community
Where possible we buy local and try to support local business
We started The Killaloe Festival of Lights in 2010
We support other local festivals
We support social and environmental projects in East Clare
We support tidy towns
We work with the local family & community centre in various projects
We promote local businesses and tourist attractions on our website and in Satmya
We consciously manage our waste
Reduce & Reuse: We recycle most packaging that comes through Satmya and reuse anything that we can.
Recycle: We recycle everything that we can; paper, cardboard, tins, cans, plastics & glass
Compost: Any vegetable waste from cooking classes or workshop lunches, herbal teas, etc is put straight into our compost.
We are committed to decreasing any negative impacts we have on our beautiful surroundings. We continually look for ways of improving our positive environmental and social efforts, ensuring that we deliver a high quality, environmentally sensitive business.
